United Nations of Valence
We recently had our first World Day which was a resounding success! The aim of the Day was for each of our four Houses Quebec, Squerryes, Chartwell and Hever to create their very own country. Activities included designing a nation flag, creating a national dance or a national dish. Students discussed a variety of issues they thought were important to their country, such as Law and Punishment, International Relations and War, Energy Policy, The Space Race and Animal Rights. Some of the punishments for law breaking seemed harsh, for example one House wanted litter louts to go to prison! In general though the discussions were balanced and sensible and it was interesting to hear the views of our students on everyday matters that affect our lives. See more photo's in The Gallery
