The team based at Valence consists of Nurses, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Speech & Language Therapists. Students receive the very best support to enable them to help manage their disability and on going health care needs. Parents of boarding students are able to register their son/daughter with our local GP Service in Westerham, who holds a weekly surgery at Valence. The Health Team work closely with school colleagues to ensure that the students receive individualised, high quality and imaginative care regardless of the extent of their disability and work together to facilitate students’ fullest access to the curriculum, health, fitness and social activities within a safe, positive and happy environment. In addition to the Team based here at Valence, we offer a range of other peripatetic services. All students have an annual medical review with a Consultant Community Paediatrician. Parents welcome the fact that we can offer onsite regular Dentist, Podiatrist and Dietetic input, treatment and advice and have a visiting Orthotist who provides an efficient and high quality service. We also run a weekly wheelchair repair clinic for NHS supplied wheelchairs and each of the wheelchair services from throughout Kent run regular clinics here. Lastly but not least we are very lucky to have a close relationship with The Evelina Children’s Hospital who hold regular Clinics in school, throughout the year from a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon and Consultant Spinal Surgeon as well as a Neuromuscular Consultant and Neuropaediatrician |

Valence School is in the fortunate position of having an onsite Multi-Disciplinary Health Team, employed by West Kent Community Health to provide a holistic specialist service to the students at Valence School.
