Welcome
Valence School is a well established centre of excellence offering high quality learning opportunities and excellent social and health care to children and young people who have physical disabilities and complex medical needs. The School has both day and residential places and has many outstanding specialist facilities.
The School is an exciting, innovative and dynamic place – we are proud of our specialist work in which students’ achievements, progress and development is at the heart of everything we do.
I am proud to lead a team of dedicated and highly skilled staff who are actively supported by a proactive and effective Governing Body. The School works hard to have close and productive relationships with parents and carers and we are grateful for the support that they provide.
Our ‘can do’ approach aims to give our children and young people the skills and understanding, together with the confidence and independence necessary for them to participate in and contribute to society in the way each chooses. |

It’s a pleasure to welcome back students and staff to a new School Year, and a warm welcome to our new students, who will soon begin to feel at home here.
During a summer break although school life changes, it does carry on, and this year has been no exception, being one of our busiest times with a large number of contractors on site carrying out a variety of works. These works are designed to further enhance provisions for the young people and to enable them to live their lives to the full, learning and living in ways that minimise the impact of their disabilities and maximise their opportunities, progress and development and most of all enjoyment of life! |

That's how our Headteacher summed up the Week. He goes on to say in his Blog "To see the engagement of our young people and their amazing dancing talent, for example, has been a breath-taking experience. These special events enable the students to participate in a range of activities outside the usual curriculum and the benefits in working with others including visiting professional artists and coaches as well as students from other schools has given unrivalled opportunities to build self-confidence, raise ambition and achieve excellence."
