Full Time 1.0 FTE - to start January 2023

Unqualified Teacher Pay Range (Fringe) £20,594 - £25,000 gross p.a.

Do you have experience of delivering sport and want to gain additional experience in PE and school or disability sport?

Are you considering a career as a PE Teacher and want experience that will enable you to progress to that level?

If so, we have an exciting opportunity to teach sports at Valence. You will plan and deliver appropriate adapted and modified PE lessons to our disabled students.  You must have a genuine passion for sports coaching and PE, and demonstrate a continuing involvement in sport.  You will be enthusiastic, have excellent communication skills and be able to inspire disabled young people to be actively interested in sport and swimming.

Valence School is a KCC Foundation Special School with residential facilities for children and young people with physical disabilities, complex medical needs and associated learning and communication difficulties.  We are part of the Kent Special Educational Needs Trust.

Experience of working with SEND students is desirable, however what is more important is an aspiration to support disabled students to achieve.  We offer a collaborative and friendly staff environment in a campus school setting where you will have the chance to make a real and positive impact on the lives of Valence students.

Valence is part of the Initial Teacher Training (ITT) programme with Canterbury Christ Church University (CCCU) and has an excellent track record in supporting previous trainee teachers. The ITT route requires the candidate to already hold a suitable degree level qualification, and to complete the application and interview process through UCAS. The successful candidate for this role will be supported with their application to CCCU for either September 2023 or September 2024 as desired.  Please note that if the ITT is achieved the candidate does not automatically move to a teaching post within the school.
