The school is set on a beautiful campus on the outskirts of Westerham and is part of the Kent Special Educational Needs Trust (KsENT).

Education Support Assistant - English

As an Education Support Assistant for English you will provide high quality learning support for the English curriculum for our students across the school. This will include:
- supporting, informing and advising other support staff who are deployed with the class in lesson to enable them to effectively support students’ learning and communication
- creating resources and materials to enhance learning opportunities and delivering particular strategies and programmes for students
- promoting a love of reading, writing and spoken language
- being an advocate for phonics, attending training sessions and delivering small group intervention sessions.
- ensuring effective communication with, and between, staff and students and contribute to securing efficiency and high standards of care and personal development for students and providing general support duties including providing physical management and personal care.
A good command of written and spoken English, English GCSE (or equivalent) Grade 5/C or above and an enthusiasm for teaching English is required.

As an Education Support Assistant you will support the Maths teacher in delivering a wide and varied curriculum to students across the school. You will have a sound understanding of mathematics and be able to work on your own initiative and communicate effectively at all levels. This role will involve:
- supporting, informing and advising other support staff deployed in Maths lessons to enable them to effectively support students’ learning and communication
- developing and preparing resources for Maths activities in accordance with lesson plans and in response to student needs;
- leading on small group activities to ensure exam students are well prepared for entry;
- being an advocate for the subject so that students are inspired to learn.
You will have a good command of Mathematics, and a good general education including GCSE (or equivalent) Grade 5/C or above in English and Maths.

As an Education Support Assistant for Computing you will provide high quality support in computing across the school. This will include creating resources and materials to enhance learning opportunities and to ensure that the teacher has appropriate resources for curriculum delivery. You will support, inform and advise support staff who are deployed in lessons to enable them to effectively support students’ learning and be an advocate for I.T. so that students are inspired to learn. You will also carry out general support duties including personal care and physical management for students as required.
You will have a good command of written and spoken English, and a good general education including GCSE (or equivalent) Grade 5/C or above in English and Maths. You will be confident with basic computer software e.g. MS word, PowerPoint, and be prepared to train to use specialised software. You must have a genuine desire to improve the progress of young people with disabilities in Computing. Knowledge of working with I.T. will be an advantage.

Senior Teaching Assistant (Class Coordinator)

As a Class Coordinator you will coordinate, inform and advise support staff deployed in lessons to enable them to effectively support students' learning within an identified pathway class. You will provide high quality support for teaching and learning and deliver particular strategies and programmes for students in a variety of settings.
In addition you will ensure effective communication with, and between, staff and students and contribute to securing efficiency and high standards of care and personal development for students. You will also lead on general support duties including providing physical management and personal care.

Student Support Assistant (One-to-One)

You will provide individualised needs for a student for which full training will be provided. You will be responsible for enabling the student’s learning, promoting their independence and helping them achieve. You will need to be a confident advocate, recognising the potential of the individual and championing their needs along with possessing exceptional communication skills and patience.

Lunchtime Support Assistant

£12.60 per hour - £8,584 actual gross p.a

As a Lunchtime Support Assistant you will support our students, who have complex needs, with feeding and drinking during the lunch period. You will also support and enable our students learning during lunchtime activities.
No experience is necessary as full training will be given, however a genuine desire to support our students is essential.

Bank Student Support Staff
Flexibility to work when you have availability.
You do not need to commit to a specific number of hours, but you will be required to work on a regular basis where possible (minimum of 2 shifts per month).
£12.60-£13.50 per PLUS holiday pay : morning, day, evening shifts available.

As a Bank Student Support Assistant you will:
- support students within the learning and residential environments in order to promote their intellectual, physical, social and emotional development;
- promote a caring environment and provide a high standard of care including washing, toileting, bathing and mealtime assistance;
- ensure that communication with students, staff and other departments is effective and contributes to our high standards of care and personal development for students;
- maintain excellent standards of safety and good practice in relation to safeguarding, health and safety issues, implementing students’ care plans and appropriately using the recording and reporting processes.
