THERAPY ASSISTANT

37 - 40 hours per week - School Term Time only - Permanent

£10.92 per hour - £18,352 to £21,080 actual salary

Monday to Friday 8.30am to 4.30pm - Friday 8.30am to 4.00pm

39 working weeks : 6.4 weeks’ paid holiday

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Therapy Assistant post at Valence School.

This new post has been created to support the physical needs of our students and you will be part of a multi-disciplinary therapy team and will primarily be supporting land and water based exercise programmes.  There will also be the opportunity to work with Occupational therapists and Speech and Language therapists.

Valence School is a KCC Foundation residential and day Special School for children and young people aged 4 to 19 with physical disabilities, complex medical needs and associated learning and communication difficulties.  We are part of the Kent Special Educational Needs Trust (KsENT).

Applicants should be able to demonstrate some experience of working with children/young people in relevant settings.  We are also looking for applicants who can demonstrate some experience, knowledge and understanding of working with people with physical, learning and communication difficulties.

This post would suit anyone who may be interested in a future career in  Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy or in a sports related career.
