Therapy Assistant


£10.92 per hour - Term Time - 39 working weeks + 6.4 weeks paid holiday

General Therapy Assistant : from 37 up to 42.5 hours per week : £18,352 to £21,080 p.a. actual salary : Monday to Thursday 8.30am to 4.30pm - Friday 8.30am to 4.00pm

One-to-One Therapy Assistant : 40 hours per week : £19,840 p.a. actual salary : Monday to Friday 8.30am to 4.30pm plus one late to 7.00pm to support with an after-school club

An exciting opportunity has arisen for Therapy Assistants at Valence School.  

Therapy Assistant (General): you will support the physical therapy needs of our students and be part of a multi-disciplinary therapy team.  You will primarily be supporting land and water based exercise programmes with the opportunity to work with our Physiotherapy, Occupational therapists and Speech and Language therapists. 

Therapy Assistant (One-to-One): you will be part of a small team of staff working with one of our students providing care and therapeutic interventions. You will be based in the student’s classroom and will be supported by therapists from Occupational and Physiotherapy and also Speech and Language therapy. 

Valence School is a KCC Foundation residential and day Special School for children and young people aged 4 to 19 with physical disabilities, complex medical needs and associated learning and communication difficulties.  We are part of the Kent Special Educational Needs Trust (KsENT).

Applicants should be able to demonstrate some experience of working with children/young people in relevant settings.  We are also looking for applicants who can demonstrate some experience, knowledge and understanding of working with people with physical, learning and communication difficulties.
