School Term Time Only - Permanent - 40 hours per week

£17.39 per hour - £33,176 gross per annum

Set shifts between 6.30am and 10pm plus 8 x 7.5hr weekend shifts per year

Due to continued growth and development, we are recruiting for a team leader to join our friendly staff team in the picturesque setting of Valence School, located in Westerham, Kent.  Valence School is a Kent County Council Foundation residential and day Special School for students from age 4 to 19 with physical disabilities, complex medical needs and associated learning difficulties. We are part of the Kent Special Educational Needs Trust (KsENT) and have a large, dedicated staff team of over 200 people providing specialist teaching, social care, therapies and nursing care to an exceptionally high standard.  You will have the chance to make a real and positive impact on the lives of our fantastic students.

You will be working in the Residential Education Provision and will lead and manage designated home living areas in accordance with the ethos of Valence School ensuring the highest standards of young person centred support is delivered and maintained.  This will involve::

· managing and monitoring operational resources with both staffing and physical resources, including budgeting.  This will include one sleep-in shift per week as the on-call manager;

· supporting young people in partnership with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure a consistent, holistic and effective working approach is maintained;

· planning and organising residential time to ensure social, personal and eating needs are met, completing risk assessments and monitoring all aspects of health and safety and ensuring excellent communication with students, staff and parents/carers.

Successful candidates will possess or be willing to complete the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management and have relevant experience in a residential educational or care setting with children and young people.  Experience working with young people who have complex physical and medical needs is desirable.  We offer a supportive, friendly working environment along with continuous training opportunities.
