Specialist Art Higher Level Teaching Assistant


Full Time - 37 hours per week - Permanent - Term Time + flexibility 

£23,148 per annum plus generous pension, retail discount scheme, wellbeing sessions, subsidised meals, free on-site parking.

As a Specialist Art Higher Level Teaching Assistant you will support the Art teacher in delivering a wide and varied curriculum to students.  You will have a sound understanding of art and be able to work on your own initiative and communicate effectively at all levels.  This role will involve:

° supporting and delivering lessons, assessing work and producing reports in conjunction with the Art teacher;

° developing and preparing resources for Art activities in accordance with lesson plans and in response to student needs;

° leading on small group activities to ensure exam students are well-prepared for entry;

° being an advocate for the subject so that students are inspired to take part.

This role is ideally suited to someone considering a career in teaching (or other Art based professional) and the school has a good track record of supporting staff in this respect.  You will have a good general education up to and including degree level, although there is no requirement for a degree to be Art-based, evidence of a passion for the subject is vital.  A HLTA qualification, or willingness to achieve this within the first year, along with evidence of supporting students in a SEND setting is desirable.
