WAKING NIGHT STUDENT SUPPORT ASSISTANT
7.30pm to 7.30am per shift including breaks
£10,306 actual p.a. (£9.86ph) plus unsocial hours allowance
1 x Monday & Thursday - permanent
1 x Wednesday & Thursday - Maternity Cover (1 year)
Term Time Only (39 working weeks plus 6.4 weeks’ paid holiday)

As a Waking Night Student Support Assistant you will support our residential students during the night by
· regularly monitor our students and attend to their personal care needs;
· ensure that communication with students, staff, and other departments is effective and contributes to securing efficiency and high standards of care for our students;
· appropriately using the recording and reporting processes;
· maintain high standards of safety and observing good practice in relation to health and safety issues and to be aware of, and implement, students’ care plans.
The role will involve moving and handling children and young people. Experience of complex physical and medical needs is desirable, however we provide full training and welcome applications from those exploring a career change or have little experience in our sector. What matters more is your attitude, values and mindset in supporting our inspirational students to achieve meaningful independence.
You will get a total hourly payment of £13.15ph for the hours worked between 10pm to 7am on weekdays. There is also flexibility to cover one night during 16 Open weekends in term time, in which the school is open to provide respite to families paid at £17.86ph.
The successful candidate will be supported to complete the Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare along with ongoing professional development. You will work within a supportive and friendly team in a country school setting.
