Hawking Pathway

Formal approach

In the formal pathway, students follow a broad and enriched curriculum, which is bespoke to their circumstance and ability. In Key Stages 3, students will be following the National Curriculum in preparation for qualifications. In Key Stages 4 and 5, the purpose is for students to aspire to the highest level of qualification they can achieve (AS, GCSE or Entry Level), which will allow them to continue with further education in another appropriate setting. Overall, we are passionate about developing independent and resilient learners, who are passionate about the subjects they learn and positive in their outlook.

In the Hawking pathway, students study a breadth of subjects: English, Maths, Science, PSHE, PE, Swim, Art and Design, Computing, Cooking, Humanities, and Modern Foreign Language.  In secondary, Music develops into Expressive Arts, and some students also have lessons in Drama.
