Working with Children in Preschool Settings
If your son or daughter is at a Preschool setting in the Sevenoaks District and you are concerned that they have a learning difficulty or disability affecting their development and progress, you should initially ask to speak with your child's Preschool setting SENCO or Manager to discuss your concerns. Alternatively, they may ask to speak with you about your child. After discussion it may be agreed that your child requires a targeted plan, with supportive targets and strategies
If the difficulties are not resolved by additional intervention, the Early Years SENCO will discuss further with you. If you feel your child would benefit from additional specialist advice or support, they will ask for your consent to engage with the Early Years Local Inclusion Team Forum (LIFT). You will need to sign an Agreement to Engage form.
The Early Years LIFT meeting is attended by practitioners such as the Specialist Teacher based at Valence School, Special School Outreach Staff based at Milestone Academy, the Equality and Inclusion Advisor, a Children’s Centre or Early Help worker and other Early Years practitioners.
